Lace up and walk the legendary first stage of the Camino Inglés — the medieval pilgrim route that English and Irish pilgrims walked from Ferrol directly to Santiago de Compostela. Receive your official Pilgrim Passport stamp right at the port.
What to expect
Your certified Camino guide meets you dockside, stamps your Credencial (Pilgrim Passport) at the official Ferrol pilgrim office, and leads you along the Camino Inglés' first stage through rolling Galician countryside, eucalyptus forests, and granite-paved village lanes. The route passes ancient stone cruceiros (wayside crosses), medieval churches, and Roman bridges. After completing your chosen distance, a private vehicle returns you comfortably to the port with time to spare. You depart with a stamped Credencial — proof of your pilgrimage.
Good to know
The first full stage (Ferrol to Neda) is approx. 14 km and takes 3–4 hours at a comfortable pace. Shorter sections can be arranged for those preferring a gentler walk. Wear broken-in walking shoes and carry a light daypack with water. The Ferrol pilgrim office (Oficina del Peregrino) is open from 09:00 — arrive early to stamp your Credencial before setting off.
