Journey to a working cacao plantation to master the ancient Mesoamerican art of chocolate-making — from pod to finished bar — then explore surrounding jungle on a guided wildlife safari spotting sloths, macaws, and monkeys. Utterly unique and deeply Costa Rican.
What to expect
Arrive at a lush Central Pacific cacao farm where your host — a third-generation cacao grower — walks you through the grove explaining fermentation, drying, and roasting in vivid sensory detail. You grind, mix, and hand-mould your own chocolate bar to take home. A post-tour nature walk through the farm's jungle buffer zone reveals three-toed sloths hanging in cecropia trees, brilliant-blue morpho butterflies, and calling scarlet macaws. The session ends with a lavish tasting of single-origin truffles paired with local coffee.
