Step onto the glass-floored Skywalk perched atop the 426-metre Rock of Gibraltar for a vertiginous, unobstructed panorama spanning two continents, two seas, and the iconic Pillars of Hercules. A bucket-list viewpoint that redefines the meaning of 'a room with a view.'
What to expect
The glass-floored platform cantilevers over the sheer eastern face of the Rock, with the Atlantic to the west, the Mediterranean to the east, and the Moroccan Rif Mountains filling the southern horizon. On clear days — which are frequent — you can see four distinct geographic regions simultaneously: Spain, Gibraltar, Morocco, and the open Atlantic. The Barbary macaques, who roam freely here, add a surreal, wonderful wildness to the scene. Sunrise and mid-morning light are particularly magical.
Good to know
The Skywalk is accessible via the cable car or by private taxi to the Upper Rock. Cable car queues can be long in peak season — a private taxi tour is the faster, more comfortable option. Wear flat, non-slip shoes. Add to your Nature Reserve itinerary to maximise the morning.
