Combine Tutuila's most beautiful small beach — a crescentic arc of white sand backed by palms at the foot of volcanic cliffs — with a wander through Fagatogo Market, where Samoan vendors sell fresh produce, woven goods, and island life unfolds in full colour.
What to expect
Your driver collects you at the pier and heads west along the coastal road — passing Pago Pago's famous harbour vista — to Two Dollar Beach (entry USD 5). The beach is small, intimate, and spectacularly framed by jungle-draped basalt cliffs; the snorkelling on the small reef is excellent. The return leg stops at Fagatogo Square and its open-air market, where vendors arrange pyramids of tropical fruit, woven baskets, and tapa cloth in the morning shade. The whole experience is quintessentially, unhurriedly Samoan.
Good to know
Arrive at the beach before 10:00 am to beat the midday heat and have it nearly to yourself. Bring USD cash for the beach entry fee and market purchases (cards are rarely accepted at vendors). The round-trip comfortably fits within a 3.5-hour window. Private drivers can be arranged through the Visit American Samoa tour operators directory or booked via the Pocket Guide platform.
