César Manrique's crown jewel viewpoint sits 479 metres above a sheer cliff, revealing a panoramic sweep over the turquoise strait to the unspoilt island of La Graciosa below. Combine with a drive through the lush, palm-filled valley of Haría for a portrait of Lanzarote's secret, gentler side.
What to expect
Your driver-guide winds north through dramatic volcanic terrain before arriving at Manrique's Mirador del Río — a curved, camouflaged observatory built into the cliff face. The 180-degree view over the Chinijo Archipelago, with La Graciosa shimmering in the strait below, is one of the great vistas of the Atlantic. The route continues to Haría, the 'Valley of a Thousand Palms', where a weekly artisan market and whitewashed village square invite a slow, authentic Canarian lunch. Return via the Famara escarpment for golden-hour cliffs above the wild northwestern coast.
