Explore one of Mexico's most pristine marine national parks, where coral gardens, sea turtles, and tropical fish thrive in protected waters off Playa San Agustín and Bahía Chachacual.
What to expect
A water taxi from the Santa Cruz marina whisks you to Playa San Agustín — a one-mile crescent of calm, shallow water ideal for snorkeling. Your guide points out hawksbill sea turtles, sergeant-major fish, and brain corals before moving to the wilder, deeper waters of Bahía Chachacual for the second snorkel stop. Scuba divers have the option to drop to 15 metres around submerged volcanic formations teeming with parrotfish and moray eels.
Good to know
The marine park requires a USD 3 entry permit (usually included in tour price — confirm at booking). Water taxis run from the Santa Cruz marina. Most tours are back by early afternoon, well before all-aboard. Reef-safe sunscreen is mandatory inside the park.
