Nelson's Dockyard: Private Heritage & Sailing Experience

Step into the only continuously working Georgian-era naval dockyard in the world — a UNESCO World Heritage Site — then cast off on a private sailing charter along Antigua's dramatic coastline. The combination of living history and turquoise open water is simply irreplaceable.

What to expect

Your private guide unlocks stories of Admiral Horatio Nelson and the Royal Navy's Caribbean command at this 18th-century masterpiece of copper and lumber sheds, capstans, and pillared officers' quarters. After the dockyard, your crewed charter yacht awaits in English Harbour for a private sail past Shirley Heights and along Antigua's 365 beaches. Sundowners on deck with the dockyard silhouetted at golden hour is a moment you will never forget. Return transfers by air-conditioned vehicle are arranged by your charter operator.

Good to know

The dockyard is 30–40 minutes from St John's (Antigua's cruise port) by private taxi or pre-arranged car. Pre-book the sailing charter well in advance — the best yachts fill up fast in peak season. Confirm your all-aboard time and allow at least 90 minutes' buffer for the sail back.
