Charter a traditional Sorrentine gozzo with a private skipper and explore the Amalfi Coast's sea caves, hidden coves, and pastel clifftop villages from the water — the only way to fully appreciate the UNESCO-listed coastline.
What to expect
Your skipper-captain departs from Amalfi or Positano harbour and crafts the route around your wishes — typically the Emerald Grotto, the Li Galli islands (where Nureyev once lived), the sea arch at Praiano, and a long swim stop in a private cove. Chilled Falanghina and local antipasto are served on deck. The pace is languid, the coastline theatrical, and the photos — from the water looking up at the cliffs — are unforgettable. Return to port well before your all-aboard time.
Good to know
Book well in advance — private gozzos are in very high demand June–September. Amalfi is about 75 mins by road from Naples port or reachable by hydrofoil. Confirm your ship's all-aboard time and communicate it to the skipper; they are experienced with cruise schedules. Bring sunscreen, a hat and a swim layer; snorkelling gear is usually provided.
