Climb the iconic volcanic pinnacle of Bartolomé for the most photographed view in the Galápagos, then slip into the water alongside Galápagos penguins and reef sharks in Pinnacle Rock's crystalline bay. A true bucket-list double act on one extraordinary island.
What to expect
Your morning begins with a speedboat transfer across glittering Galápagos waters to Bartolomé's volcanic shore. A well-maintained boardwalk of 372 steps winds through surreal lava fields of Sally Lightfoot crabs and lava lizards to the summit, where the view of Pinnacle Rock, Santiago's Sullivan Bay, and the surrounding archipelago is utterly breathtaking. After descending, you wade into the sheltered bay for a 45-minute snorkel alongside Galápagos penguins darting through the water, white-tipped reef sharks cruising beneath you, and sea turtles gliding past in total indifference. A packed naturalist-curated lunch is served aboard the vessel on the return.
Good to know
The full day runs 8–10 hours; confirm your all-aboard time and select a tour with a guaranteed return by early evening. Pre-book at least 2–3 weeks ahead as spaces are strictly limited by the Galápagos National Park. Bring reef-safe sunscreen, a hat, and water shoes for the lava entry.
