Slide beneath the gin-clear shallows of Las Bachas Beach to snorkel alongside Pacific green sea turtles, golden rays, and kaleidoscopic reef fish in one of the Galápagos' most pristine and accessible marine environments.
What to expect
The water at Las Bachas is shallow, warm, and extraordinarily clear, making it one of the gentlest but most rewarding snorkel sites in the archipelago. Within minutes of entering, green sea turtles glide past at unhurried pace, wholly unbothered by respectful snorkellers. Golden cownose rays cruise the sandy bottom, while schools of sergeant majors, parrotfish, and king angelfish shimmer in the shallows. Your marine biologist identifies species in real time, narrating the ecosystem's astonishing interconnectedness as you float.
Good to know
All equipment (mask, fins, wetsuit) provided; full-foot reef shoes advised for the panga landing. Non-swimmers can wade and observe from the shallows — the site is exceptionally safe. Reef-safe sunscreen is mandatory within the National Park. Confirm departure timing to ensure you're back at the tender well ahead of all-aboard.
