Sail to the otherworldly Santa Fe Island — home to the endemic Barrington land iguana and towering opuntia cacti — for world-class snorkelling with sea lions and reef sharks, then discover a hidden beach accessible only by sea.
What to expect
The morning crossing from Puerto Ayora to Santa Fe unfolds across brilliant blue water with flying fish racing the bow. A wet landing on Santa Fe's golden beach immediately delivers a welcoming committee of sea lions. Your naturalist guide leads you through a forest of towering prickly-pear cactus where the golden Barrington land iguana — endemic to this single island — basks in the morning sun. Two snorkel sessions reveal an underwater world of sea turtles, Galápagos sharks, and brilliantly coloured fish, before the boat slides around to a hidden beach for lunch and rest.
Good to know
Full day — approximately 7–8 hours. Wear quick-dry clothing and water shoes for the wet landing. Snorkelling equipment is typically provided; confirm this at booking. Pre-book at least 2 weeks in advance during high season.
