Descend into Devil's Crown — a partially submerged volcanic crater considered one of the top 10 dive sites on Earth — where hammerheads, eagle rays, and Galápagos sharks patrol the cathedral-like walls. An otherworldly, once-in-a-lifetime dive.
What to expect
The jagged spires of the Crown break the surface like a crown of teeth; below, the inside of the crater is a riot of coral, sea cucumbers, and reef fish, while the outer wall drops into the deep blue where Scalloped Hammerheads cruise in formation. Currents can be strong, making this a site for confident Open Water divers and above. Visibility averages 10–20 m. Galapagos Penguins occasionally zip past — a reminder you're nowhere else on Earth.
Good to know
Minimum certification: PADI Open Water. Bring your dive log and certification card. Devil's Crown is an NPS-protected site; numbers are capped so book as far ahead as possible. Allow a full half-day; factor in surface interval and panga transfer time against your all-aboard.
