Journey from Santa Cruz to Bartolomé for the most iconic photograph in the Galápagos — and then slip beneath it to snorkel with Galápagos penguins beside the volcanic pinnacle, an encounter that defines bucket-list.
What to expect
Speed across open ocean to Bartolomé, a volcanic islet of hauntingly beautiful tuff cones and lava spatter. Climb the 114-metre boardwalk trail to the summit viewpoint — the panorama of Pinnacle Rock, Santiago Island, and the blue-black lava field of Sullivan Bay is arresting. Descend to the beach and snorkel the crystal waters around Pinnacle Rock with Galápagos penguins darting past at arm's reach, alongside sea lions and white-tipped reef sharks. Lunch is served aboard before the return crossing.
Good to know
Full day — approximately 8–9 hours. Departs early morning from Puerto Ayora; confirm against your ship's schedule for same-day return. Galápagos National Park entry fee (USD 200 for international visitors) must be paid on arrival in the archipelago — not at the gate. Bring reef-safe sunscreen, a light layer for the summit breeze, and your camera.
