Soar above the Panamanian rainforest canopy on the Gamboa Resort's aerial tram, then explore a world-class serpentarium and butterfly garden at the Canal's jungle edge. A curated, immersive nature experience perfectly suited to the lush Gatun Lake landscape.
What to expect
The open-sided aerial gondola climbs gently above the Gamboa rainforest, giving sweeping views of the Canal, Gatun Lake, and an unbroken jungle canopy stretching to the horizon — utterly serene and unlike any conventional sightseeing. Your on-board naturalist identifies species in real time. Back on the ground, the serpentarium houses Central America's most impressive collection of live snakes, including the fer-de-lance and boa constrictor, while the butterfly garden is an iridescent riot of 40+ endemic species. A riverboat optional add-on floats you along the Chagres for crocodile and caiman spotting.
Good to know
Gamboa is approximately 45 minutes from the Gatun Lake pier by private taxi or resort transfer — pre-arrange to control your timing. Combo tickets (tram + exhibits + optional boat) offer the best value; book directly on the resort website. Light rain gear is recommended as afternoon showers are common.
