Your guide meets you dockside and leads you into the 55,000-hectare Soberania National Park, one of the most biodiverse corridors on Earth. The forest hike traces the historic Las Cruces Trail used by conquistadors and gold-rush merchants; your guide decodes every rustle and call, identifying poison-dart frogs, anteaters, and a dizzying array of migratory birds. After the hike, you board a covered canal launch on Gatun Lake, cruising past the submerged hilltops — now islands — that shelter howler monkeys and sloths.
