Taganga Village Scuba Diving — Twin-Tank Dive on Pristine Reefs

Just minutes from port, the tiny fishing village of Taganga is one of the Caribbean's best-kept diving secrets — crystal visibility, healthy coral walls, and a relaxed vibe that feels a world away from mass tourism. A twin-tank dive here is a bucket-list afternoon for underwater enthusiasts.

What to expect

A 15-minute taxi ride brings you to Taganga's picturesque harbour, where the dive boat departs for sites like El Bajo and La Aguja — walls draped in sea fans, patrolled by schools of snapper and the occasional nurse shark. Two dives of 45–50 minutes each explore contrasting terrain: a coral-encrusted plateau followed by a dramatic drop-off. Surface intervals are spent with cold agua de coco on the boat, the village's colourful fishing fleet all around you.

Good to know

Taganga is 15 minutes by taxi from the cruise terminal (~COP 15,000–20,000). Dives depart at 09:00 and 14:00; the morning session allows comfortable return before a 17:00 all-aboard. Bring your dive certification card (PADI Open Water or equivalent required). Reef-safe sunscreen only, please. Pre-book at least 48 hours ahead as spaces are limited.
