Escape to Indonesia's Thousand Islands National Park aboard a private speedboat — a necklace of coral-fringed islets where hawksbill turtles nest, manta rays cruise the channels, and the only footprints on white sand beaches are your own.
What to expect
Your private captain navigates north from Jakarta Bay into progressively clearer water, arriving at a sequence of islands chosen for conditions on the day. A park ranger joins for the turtle nesting-beach visit, explaining the conservation programme. Two guided dives or extended snorkel sessions cover the coral walls; lunch is a seafood barbecue on a deserted beach. The return sunset crossing over the Java Sea is spectacular.
