Wander the cobblestone streets of St. George's — Bermuda's original capital and a UNESCO World Heritage Site — guided by an accredited historian through 400 years of colonial intrigue, maritime drama, and pastel-painted perfection.
What to expect
You step into the oldest continuously inhabited English-speaking town in the New World: crooked lanes, whitewashed cedar rooftops, and the lingering scent of salt air and history. Your guide unlocks the stories behind the State House (Bermuda's oldest stone building), the dramatic Unfinished Church, and King's Square — where colonists once ducked wrongdoers in the harbour. St. Peter's Church dates to 1612 and holds centuries of maritime burial records. By the end, the town feels not like a backdrop but like a place you've actually come to know.
Good to know
St. George's is approximately 30 minutes by taxi from Hamilton, or reachable by the fast ferry service from Hamilton dock (~45 min, very scenic). Tours typically depart from King's Square at 10 a.m. and noon. Wear comfortable walking shoes — cobblestones are charming but uneven. Plan 2–2.5 hours for the full tour. Easy to combine with a stop at Tobacco Bay Beach afterward.
