Slip into the warm, crystalline waters of Ningaloo Reef and glide alongside the world's largest fish — the gentle, magnificent whale shark. A spotter aircraft locates the animals; you simply drop in and swim. Utterly bucket-list.
What to expect
Depart the marina aboard a purpose-built, shade-decked vessel while a spotter plane flies ahead scanning for whale sharks. Once located, a marine biologist briefs you on approach technique, then small groups of six slip quietly into the water alongside animals that can reach 12 metres. Between encounters, world-class snorkelling over the Ningaloo lagoon fills the hours. A freshly catered lunch is served on deck with cold drinks.
