Stand on the edge of one of Europe's most dramatic sea-cliff escarpments — 469 metres of sheer basalt plunging straight into the North Atlantic, with Suðuroy spread out behind you. A private certified mountain guide makes this a safe, story-rich adventure.
What to expect
The trail begins just minutes from Vágur, climbing through emerald moorland scattered with wild flowers before the cliff edge reveals itself in a jaw-dropping panorama. Your guide explains the geology of columnar basalt and the Viking-age history of Suðuroy. The summit ridge walk feels like standing at the very edge of the world. On clear days you see the island of Sandoy and, beyond it, Streymoy.
