What to expect
After a brief safety and paddle briefing on the shore at Narsaq or Narsarsuaq, you launch into glassy fjord waters flanked by 1,000m granite walls. Your guide navigates you through a maze of drifting icebergs — some the size of apartment buildings — explaining calving dynamics and pointing out seabirds nesting in the ice faces. Rest on your paddle mid-fjord and simply listen. The return paddle back to the landing is timed perfectly for your tender back to the ship.
