Glide beneath the thundering 180m cliffs of Da Noup aboard a dedicated wildlife vessel, eye-level with 100,000 nesting seabirds — gannets, puffins, guillemots and razorbills — in one of Europe's most spectacular nature spectacles.
What to expect
Departing Victoria Pier, Lerwick, the boat circles the full circumference of Noss, pausing beneath the towering sandstone cliffs of Da Noup as gannets dive and puffins whirr overhead. Expert naturalist commentary brings the ecosystem to life — species identification, nesting behaviour, and the geology that creates this avian city. Grey seals haul out on the rocks below, often indifferent to your presence just metres away. The two-hour experience leaves guests with photographs and memories that define an entire voyage.
Good to know
Two scheduled departures daily (April–October): 9:30 am and 12:30 pm from Victoria Pier, Lerwick. Book well in advance — departures sell out quickly in peak summer. Confirm your all-aboard time before selecting a departure; the 9:30 am tour is the safer choice for most port calls. Dress in warm, waterproof layers even in summer.
