Cruise past the tallest sea cliffs in the Southern Hemisphere aboard a purpose-built vessel, rounding the wild Tasman Peninsula to reach remote Tasman Island — a bucket-list journey through one of Australia's last great coastal wildernesses.
What to expect
The cruise departs Port Arthur and sweeps south along the Tasman Peninsula's savage coastline, passing Cathedral Rock, Tornado Ridge, and the monolithic sea cliffs of Cape Pillar — some plunging 300 metres straight into the Southern Ocean. Rounding the cape, you reach Tasman Island itself, home to a heritage lighthouse and teeming wildlife. Expect white-bellied sea eagles, little penguins, fur seals, and — seasonally — migrating whales. The vessel's nimble design allows the skipper to duck into sea caves and beneath natural arches for extraordinary photography. Hot drinks and light refreshments are provided aboard.
Good to know
Duration is approximately 3 hours. Departs from the Port Arthur jetty, making it seamlessly convenient for cruise passengers.
