Stand before the iconic Griffith Observatory — LA's greatest public monument — with a private naturalist guide, then hike the Hollywood Hills for the most photographed view on Earth: the Hollywood Sign at arm's reach. Utterly bucket-list.
What to expect
Your morning begins at Griffith Observatory, where the guide explains the Zeiss telescope, the planetarium dome, and the staggering 360-degree view of the LA basin, ocean, and mountains from the terrace. Then you drive to the Hollyridge Trail trailhead for a 3.5-mile round-trip hike through chaparral-scented hillside to the iconic sign's best vantage points. The guide ensures perfect photo stops and shares the sign's surprising history. The descent reveals sweeping views of the San Fernando Valley golden in the afternoon light.
