Climb all 219 steps of Florida's oldest lighthouse for a breathtaking panorama of the Atlantic, then explore the restored Victorian keeper's house with stories of the families who lived and died here.
What to expect
A maritime historian escorts your intimate group past the spiral iron staircase and through the lantern room, where the original Fresnel lens still rotates. At the top, uninterrupted 360° views sweep across Anastasia Island, the Matanzas inlet, and the open Atlantic. Below, the beautifully restored keeper's dwelling reveals Victorian domestic life in extraordinary detail, with original furnishings and personal diaries on display. The museum's working boat shop — where traditional wooden vessels are built and restored — rounds out the visit.
Good to know
Located on Anastasia Island, about a 10-minute taxi or rideshare from the historic district. Pre-book the Keeper's Experience well in advance as group sizes are strictly limited. Allow 2–2.5 hours for the full experience.
