Stand at the stone cross of Romanée-Conti — the world's most famous and expensive wine vineyard — on a private walking tour of Vosne-Romanée and Gevrey-Chambertin with a Master of Wine guide.
What to expect
Your expert guide meets you dockside and drives the D974 north through Nuits-Saint-Georges and into the hallowed 'Golden Slope.' You'll walk the actual parcel of Romanée-Conti — 1.8 hectares producing fewer than 6,000 bottles a year — and your guide explains why this precise strip of limestone clay produces wine that sells for EUR 15,000 a bottle. A stop at a family-owned Gevrey-Chambertin domaine follows, with a seated tasting of three to four Burgundy reds. The drive home passes the fairy-tale village of Vougeot and its medieval château — another photo that will define the trip.
Good to know
Vosne-Romanée is 50 km north of Seurre (about 55 minutes). Pre-book 3–4 weeks ahead; domaine tasting appointments fill quickly in peak season (June–October). Wear flat, closed-toe shoes — vineyard paths can be uneven.
