Journey 3 hours west of Havana to the Viñales Valley — a UNESCO World Heritage landscape of dramatic limestone mogotes, lush tobacco fields, and time-frozen rural Cuba. Roll and light your first hand-crafted cigar at a working farm.
What to expect
A private air-conditioned vehicle collects you at the port and whisks you to Viñales in time for the morning mist still clinging to the mogotes. A farmer-guide walks you through the curing house, lets you roll a real Habano from leaf to label, and shares the rhythm of rural Cuban life. Lunch is a feast of ropa vieja and fresh plantains at a hilltop paladar. The return drive arrives back well ahead of all-aboard.
Good to know
Depart by 7:30 am — this is a full-day excursion (9–10 hrs). Viñales is approx. 175 km from Havana cruise terminal. Confirm all-aboard time beforehand; 6 pm all-aboard gives comfortable margin. Book 3–4 weeks out as private cars from port are limited.
