Plunge into 0°C Antarctic waters for the ultimate bragging rights, then don a dry suit and snorkel the otherworldly underwater world beneath sea ice — a crystalline blue realm of ice formations, krill clouds, and curious penguins diving alongside you.
What to expect
The Polar Plunge is a ship-wide ritual of pure exhilaration — you leap from the gangway into the Southern Ocean and are hauled back out in seconds, screaming with triumph. The snorkel session that follows is its transcendent counterpart: submerged in a dry suit, you drift beneath pancake ice while leopard seals spiral below and penguins rocket past in streams of silver bubbles. Guides remain in the water throughout and brief you extensively beforehand. The cold is real, the wonder is total.
Good to know
Dry suits, hoods, gloves, and fins are all provided. Basic snorkel competency is required; scuba certification is not. Sign up early on board — snorkel sessions are capped at six participants per outing.
