Koh Samui Culinary Arts: Thai Cooking Masterclass at 5-Star Resort

Learn the architecture of authentic Thai cuisine — fragrant curries, tangy tom yum, silky pad Thai — taught by a master chef at one of Samui's most acclaimed luxury resorts. The ultimate edible souvenir from the Gulf of Thailand.

What to expect

The session opens at a local morning market where your chef guides you through the essential aromatics of Thai cooking — galangal, kaffir lime leaves, lemongrass, and bird's-eye chillies — explaining how to select and balance them. Back at the resort's elegant open-air kitchen, you'll prepare 3–4 classic Thai dishes from scratch: a green or red curry paste ground by hand with a granite mortar and pestle, a fragrant tom kha soup, pad Thai with fresh rice noodles, and a mango sticky rice dessert. You sit down to eat everything you've cooked, with the resort's garden and pool shimmering behind you — then take home a recipe card to recreate the magic on board and beyond.

Good to know

Morning half-day classes (9:00 AM–1:00 PM) align well with typical cruise call schedules, leaving time for the beach or a temple visit in the afternoon. Book directly with the resort's concierge or activity desk at least one week ahead. Dietary requirements (vegetarian, gluten-free) can be accommodated with advance notice.
