Sea-kayak at water level through a gallery of drifting icebergs, reading the silence of the Arctic from the seat of a double kayak with a local expert guide. Widely regarded as the finest kayaking experience on the planet.
What to expect
After a brief safety and paddle briefing on shore, you slip into a stable sea-kayak and follow your guide into the fjord's icy labyrinth. Icebergs tower overhead and reflect in mirror-flat water, while Arctic terns dive around you. Your guide points out the geology of each berg — white, blue, and bubble-trapped air — and shares Inuit stories of the ice. The return paddle gives you time to absorb the silence before returning to shore.
