Step ashore on the world's most remote inhabited island — home to the descendants of the Bounty mutineers. Walk Fletcher Christian's land, visit the original Bounty anchor, and hear living family stories passed down nine generations.
What to expect
You are tendered ashore via longboat, the same method islanders have used for centuries. A Christian or Adams descendant walks you to Adamstown, the BOUNTY Bible, and the original anchor retrieved from Bounty Bay. The pace is unhurried and deeply personal — you are a guest in someone's ancestral home. Conclude with handcrafted honey, local fruit, and carved artefacts sold only here.
Good to know
Pitcairn has no jetty — all landings are by longboat and weather-dependent; confirm your all-aboard time carefully as tenders operate on a strict schedule. Pre-arrange with the Tourism Office months in advance as capacity is extremely limited. Bring USD or NZD cash as card facilities are unreliable.
