Stand inside the only 360° panoramic Cyclorama painting of the Mutiny on the Bounty, then explore the Bounty Folk Museum's remarkable collection of Pitcairn artefacts, original Bounty relics, and Tahitian crafts. One of the Pacific's most unique museum experiences.
What to expect
You enter the Cyclorama chamber and find yourself surrounded by the chaotic drama of the mutiny — Bligh cast adrift, Christian at the helm, the burning Bounty at Pitcairn. The illusion is total and the artistry extraordinary. The adjacent Folk Museum displays original Bounty timber, Pitcairn-made Tahitian cloth, personal effects of the mutineers' families, and the island's extraordinary genealogical records linking today's Norfolk Islanders to the original Bounty crew. Staff are often island descendants who share personal family connections to the exhibits. Allow 60–75 minutes.
