Sail the turquoise west coast of Barbados on a luxury catamaran and snorkel alongside wild hawksbill and leatherback sea turtles in their natural feeding grounds. A wildlife encounter that is as close to flying as swimming gets.
What to expect
The catamaran departs Bridgetown Harbour and reaches the Carlisle Bay marine reserve within 20 minutes, where hawksbill turtles glide beneath the surface in water so clear they're visible from the deck. Guides enter the water first to locate the feeding turtles, then signal guests in for an intimate swim-alongside encounter. Champagne, Bajan rum punches, and a fresh flying-fish lunch are served on deck while the crew shares conservation insights. A second snorkel stop over a shallow shipwreck garden concludes the morning.
Good to know
The turtle site is within 20 minutes of Bridgetown Harbour — ideal for cruise port timing. Book directly for the morning departure (typically 9am) to maximise time before all-aboard. Reef-safe, biodegradable sunscreen is mandatory — enforced by the crew. Fins and masks provided; bring an underwater camera or GoPro.
