Journey into the Arctic wilderness for an intimate wildlife safari — spotting reindeer, Arctic foxes, and sea eagles — culminating in a private Sami ceremony inside a traditional lavvu tent with a reindeer herder.
What to expect
A private minibus collects you from the Tromsø pier and drives into the Lyngen Alps, where the herder family awaits in a traditional setting. You feed and walk among the reindeer herd, learning about Arctic husbandry and the Sami relationship with the land. Inside the lavvu — a large conical tent centred on an open fire — you share a meal of slow-cooked reindeer stew with cloudberry dessert. Your guide then leads a short wildlife walk scanning for Arctic fox and golden eagle before your private return to port.
