Cruise the crystalline waters off Ixtapa aboard a private lancha, hopping between the seven protected islands, snorkelling vibrant coral gardens and feeding the famous tame fish of Isla Ixtapa. One of Mexico's Pacific coast bucket-list boat days.
What to expect
Depart from Zihuatanejo's municipal pier or Playa Linda and skim across turquoise water to Isla Ixtapa, where you'll snorkel amid parrotfish, sergeant majors, and the legendary hand-fed fish that swarm around crackers tossed from the dock. Continue to quieter outer islands for pristine reef snorkelling and a swim stop. A cooler of cold drinks and fresh fruit keeps energy high between dives. The return journey hugs the coast for sweeping views of the Sierra Madre foothills dropping to the sea.
Good to know
Full tour runs approximately 3–4 hours. Bring reef-safe sunscreen, a dry bag for valuables, and sea-sickness tablets if you're sensitive. Book a morning departure — afternoon winds can chop up the channel. The municipal pier is a short taxi ride from the cruise terminal.
