Blast through the most dramatic walls of the Saguenay Fjord aboard a Zodiac, landing at Baie-Éternité to tackle the via ferrata fixed-rope route above the river. Raw, vertical wilderness — this is the fjord at its most visceral and bucket-list.
What to expect
A rigid-hull Zodiac skims the ink-dark fjord waters beneath 300-metre granite cliffs, stopping to scan for seals on the rock ledges. At Baie-Éternité, a park naturalist leads you onto the via ferrata route, clipping you into fixed anchors as you climb above the treeline for panoramic views over the fjord and the iconic Cap Trinité statue. The circuit ends with a lakeside picnic area before the Zodiac returns you to the dock.
Good to know
Pre-book directly with Parcs Québec as via ferrata spots are capped daily. The park entrance is a 45-minute coach transfer from the La Baie cruise pier; arrange transport through Saguenay Guided Tours or a private driver. Allow 5–6 hours total; well within a standard all-aboard window.
