Ascend to the highest point in the BVI — 1,716 ft above the Caribbean — through ancient mahogany rainforest draped in hanging vines and alive with birdsong. A rare, crowd-free escape into untouched wilderness minutes from the cruise pier.
What to expect
Your private guide collects you dockside and drives up into Tortola's verdant interior, the road narrowing as palms give way to towering mahogany and stranger figs. The main trail winds through one of the last stands of original Caribbean rainforest in the BVI, with interpretive stops at centuries-old trees and native flora. At the summit ridge, the view stretches across the Sir Francis Drake Channel to St. John, St. Thomas, and a scatter of outer islands. The descent follows a quieter path, often passing flowering bromeliads and tree ferns rarely seen at sea level.
