Pedal the legendary Glomma Trail along Norway's longest river, gliding through riverside meadows, past historic shipyards, and into the heart of Gamlebyen — all at the unhurried pace of a private cycling experience with a local guide. Pure, effortless Scandinavian beauty.
What to expect
You collect premium e-bikes at the port and set off south along the flat, well-surfaced Glomma riverbank path. The guide points out the old sawmill ruins, the working canal locks, and the point where Viking-era trade routes crossed the river. The route culminates at Gamlebyen's drawbridge, where you lock up and explore on foot.
Good to know
The main cycling route is largely flat and paved — ideal for leisurely e-bike touring. Budget approximately 3–4 hours for the full riverside-to-fortress loop. Confirm e-bike availability and guide booking in advance, especially July–August when demand peaks. Helmets are provided; dress in light layers.
