Bardsey Sound Seal & Seabird Wildlife Cruise

Cruise the crystalline waters of Bardsey Sound aboard a small wildlife vessel, encountering grey seals hauled out on rocky ledges, dolphin pods, porpoises, and vast seabird colonies — including Manx shearwaters on one of their most important global nesting sites.

What to expect

Your small boat rounds the island's dramatic cliffs, where razorbills, guillemots, and choughs nest in abundance. Grey seals eye you curiously from sun-warmed rocks, entirely unbothered by your presence. The sound's fast-running tides attract foraging dolphins and porpoises, and on a clear day the panorama of Cardigan Bay and the Llŷn Peninsula is simply jaw-dropping. The skipper provides expert naturalist commentary throughout.

Good to know

Binoculars are strongly recommended — bring your own or source a luxury pair in advance. Best wildlife sightings are May–September. The boat is small and open; dress in wind- and spray-proof layers regardless of season. Confirm the wildlife-focused itinerary (circumnavigation vs landing) directly with the operator when booking.
