Speed across the Bay of Naples to Capri on a private motorboat, slip inside the electric-blue sea cave of the Grotta Azzurra, then hike to Emperor Tiberius's cliff-top Villa Jovis with a private guide. Pure Mediterranean magic.
What to expect
Your skipper departs Naples early, cutting across glittering open water before the morning rush. Arriving at the Grotta Azzurra first thing, you transfer to a wooden rowboat and lie back as brilliant cobalt light fills the cave. Back on board, circle the Faraglioni stacks and anchor in a private cove for a swim. Ashore in Capri town, a private guide escorts you up the stepped path to Villa Jovis — Tiberius's 12-room imperial complex with vertiginous cliff views over the Tyrrhenian Sea.
Good to know
The Blue Grotto closes if seas are rough — your skipper will advise alternatives. Depart by 08:00 to beat the crowds. Allow 5–6 hours total. Capri town gets extremely busy midday; Villa Jovis in the afternoon is blissfully quiet. Wear comfortable walking shoes for the 45-minute uphill hike.
