Stand inside Karnak's hypostyle hall — 134 columns, each 23 metres tall — then cross the Nile at dusk to the Valley of the Kings. A private Egyptologist turns 3,500 years of hieroglyphs into living stories.
What to expect
A private air-conditioned vehicle collects you from the port or nearest airport hub for the journey to Luxor. At Karnak, your Egyptologist deciphers battle reliefs and sacred texts that large groups walk past. The Valley of the Kings visit includes Tutankhamun's tomb (ticketed separately on-site, approx. EGP 400 extra). You return in time for all-aboard with a sunset over the Nile burned into memory.
Good to know
Pre-book well in advance — private Egyptologist dates fill fast. The Luxor round-trip from Port Said or Ismailia is best done with an overnight or a very early start; confirm all-aboard time with your ship and discuss logistics with your guide at booking. Timed-entry tickets for the Valley of the Kings sell out; ask your guide to pre-purchase.
