Slip into the warm Red Sea waters at Shaab El Erg — 'Dolphin House' — where a resident pod of spinner dolphins circles the reef every morning. One of only a handful of places on Earth to swim alongside wild dolphins in their natural habitat.
What to expect
An early-morning speedboat from Hurghada Marina carries you 45 minutes north to Shaab El Erg reef. You enter the water quietly at the reef's edge, and within minutes the resident pod — sometimes 50–100 dolphins — spirals around you in the clear blue water. After the dolphin encounter, the boat moves to a pristine coral garden for a 45-minute guided snorkel. A light Egyptian lunch is served on the return journey as the Sinai mountains glow on the horizon.
Good to know
Best experienced April–October when sea conditions are calmest, though dolphins are present year-round. This excursion is ideal for ships calling at Hurghada or Safaga. Reef-safe sunscreen only. The experience begins at 08:00 sharp — transfers from Safaga port take approximately 1 hour; factor this into your all-aboard calculation. Book directly through the Pelago listing and confirm pickup logistics at the time of booking.
