Arrive at Magens Bay — one of National Geographic's top 10 beaches in the world — before the crowds, then wind through St. Thomas's dramatic ridge roads with a private local guide for sweeping panoramas of the Caribbean and British Virgin Islands.
What to expect
Your licensed guide collects you dockside in an air-conditioned vehicle and takes you up the lush interior ridge, stopping first at Drake's Seat for a jaw-dropping panorama stretching to Tortola. At Mountain Top you'll sip the original banana daiquiri while scanning four island chains below. Then it's down to Magens Bay for a leisurely swim on one of the world's most perfectly curved mile-long beaches before a scenic return through Charlotte Amalie's duty-free streets.
Good to know
Arrange your guide directly through the USVI Department of Tourism-approved taxi stands at Havensight or Crown Bay piers. The full loop runs 3–4 hours comfortably. Magens Bay is USD 5 cash entry; carry small bills. Allow 30 minutes back to the pier to clear traffic.
