Falklands Sea Kayak Expedition: Harbours & Wildlife

Paddle the glassy waters of Stanley Harbour and the surrounding coastline by sea kayak — discovering marine wildlife, kelp forests, and historic shipwrecks from the waterline in the world's most remote island setting. Active, intimate, and profoundly memorable.

What to expect

Your expert guide briefs the group on paddle technique and safety before launching from the Stanley waterfront into a harbour framed by the red-roofed capital and snow-dusted hills. The route weaves around the rusting iron hulks of 19th-century square-riggers — extraordinary historical monuments half-submerged in kelp. Commerson's dolphins frequently accompany kayakers; cormorants and steamer ducks share the kelp beds. The pace is leisurely and the guide provides full ecological and historical narration throughout.
