Join a strictly limited cohort of ten guests for a four-day immersive photography programme led by a professional polar photographer, crafting portfolio-grade images of icebergs, wildlife, and light conditions that exist nowhere else on the planet.
What to expect
Each morning begins with a pre-dawn briefing on the day's light forecast and landing plan, followed by priority boarding on a dedicated Zodiac positioned by the instructor for optimal angles on glacier faces and wildlife colonies. In-field coaching covers exposure for high-contrast ice and snow, wildlife behaviour anticipation, and drone-free composition techniques that respect IAATO wildlife guidelines. Evening review sessions aboard — with the day's raw files on screen — turn each day's outing into an accelerated masterclass. Participants routinely leave with images that have appeared in travel publications.
Good to know
Available on select sailings only — confirm at booking. Bring a full-frame or mirrorless camera body; the instructor can advise on lens kit in advance. A weather-sealed body and a zoom range of 70–400mm covers the majority of scenarios. Sessions run regardless of conditions — overcast polar light is often the most dramatic.
