Sea Kayaking Among Antarctic Icebergs at Neko Harbour

Paddle a double sea kayak through the glassy waters of Neko Harbour, weaving between luminous blue icebergs and listening to glacier calving echo across the bay. One of the planet's most extraordinary paddle routes, accessible to confident beginners.

What to expect

After a thorough dry-land safety briefing and dry-suit fitting, you launch directly from the expedition ship's platform into mirror-flat water. A certified polar kayak guide leads you through shifting ice sculptures, pausing to point out crabeater seals resting on ice floes. Expect 2.5–3 hours on the water, covering 4–6 km at a leisurely pace.

Good to know

Pre-register on embarkation day — kayak slots are the first excursion to sell out. No prior kayak experience is required, but a basic fitness level is needed. Dry suits are provided; bring a warm mid-layer to wear underneath.
