Wildlife Photography Masterclass: Penguins & Seabirds by Zodiac

Join a professional polar wildlife photographer for a dedicated small-group Zodiac session timed to golden-hour Antarctic light, focusing entirely on composition, timing and technique around penguin rookeries and wandering albatross. Return with portfolio-grade images.

What to expect

Departing in the low-angle Antarctic light of mid-morning or late afternoon, your photographer guide anchors the Zodiac downwind of an active Chinstrap penguin colony on the rocky shore. You practice tracking techniques as penguins toboggan down snowfields and leap from ice ledges into the sea. The guide reviews images on-screen in the field and adjusts settings in real time. A post-session edit briefing is included back onboard.

Good to know

Bring your own camera — DSLR or mirrorless with a 100–400mm zoom lens is ideal; a telephoto rental can be arranged through the expedition desk. Waterproof your camera bag. Session timing is dictated by wildlife activity and announced the evening before. Limited to 8 guests — register on day one of the voyage.
