Ventures by Seabourn: Sea Kayak Antarctica

Paddle a sea kayak through glassy Antarctic waters flanked by glaciers and curious Gentoo penguins — the ultimate human-powered encounter with the white continent. An elite small-group adventure available only in the calmest conditions.

What to expect

After a comprehensive dry-land safety briefing and a dry-suit fitting session aboard ship, you launch directly from the marina into sheltered Antarctic waters. The group travels in a tight convoy, pausing whenever a curious penguin porpoises alongside or a minke whale surfaces nearby. Bioluminescence sometimes trails your paddle strokes in overcast conditions. The pace is entirely your own — guides hold position until every guest has absorbed the moment.

Good to know

Must be pre-booked before departure; spaces fill very quickly (typically 8–12 spots). Basic kayaking experience preferred but not required. Dry suits and all paddling gear are supplied. Trips are cancelled if winds exceed 15 knots — always have a Zodiac excursion as your backup plan.
