Wind along Europe's most dramatic coastline in a private, open-top vintage Italian car with a knowledgeable local driver-guide, cresting the clifftop road to Ravello's Villa Cimbrone gardens above the clouds.
What to expect
Your driver-guide collects you from the pier in a gleaming vintage Italian convertible and heads east along the SS163, the legendary Nastro Azzurro. You stop at every jaw-dropping belvedere: Positano's pastel tumble of houses, the Furore fjord, the harbour at Amalfi town for a limoncello break. The road climbs to Ravello, where Villa Cimbrone's Terrace of Infinity offers what Gore Vidal called 'the most beautiful view in the world.' You return along the coast as the afternoon light turns everything amber and gold.
Good to know
Departs from Salerno or Sorrento cruise terminals. Ravello adds approximately 45 mins each way on steep switchback roads — factor this into your all-aboard calculation. The coast road can be slow in July–August; request a morning start. Book the open-top car well in advance as fleet is limited.
