Paddle through a narrow karst slot and emerge into the heart-shaped freshwater lake known as Karawapop Love Lake — a hidden jewel ringed by vertical limestone cliffs. Few visitors reach it; those who do describe it as a place of absolute otherworldly serenity.
What to expect
You launch from a private dock and paddle across glassy open water before ducking through the dramatic karst entrance. Inside, the lake opens into a perfect amphitheatre of jungle-topped limestone, its walls streaked with centuries of mineral staining. Sunlight filters down in golden shafts. You swim, float, and photograph in near-total silence. The guide shares the local Misool legend that gives the lake its name. The return paddle at sunset turns the karst walls vivid orange.
Good to know
The kayak entrance is tide-dependent — the operator will plan your timing precisely. Wear water shoes; the limestone entry point can be slippery. Bring a dry bag for camera and valuables. Allow 3–4 hours total. Confirm all-aboard time before booking.
